In less than 50 years, UOW has become a benchmark for Australia’s new generation of universities; dynamic, innovative and prominent in national and international rankings for the quality of teaching and research.
The latest 2021 ‘Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching’ Employer Satisfaction Survey ranks UOW equal first among Australian public Universities with overall satisfaction of graduates at 89.7 per cent. It also ranks 14th in the world for Universities less than 50 years old (2021 QS rankings). Its Engineering and Technology disciplines are ranked in the world’s top 100 (2021 Times Higher Education) with several in the top 50. These disciplines will be all in particularly great demand as the Aerotropolis develops.
We must also anticipate the nature of emergent industries and future jobs as graduates need to be ethical, mobile, technologically literate and ready for multicultural workplaces. The exceptionally high employment rates of our graduates demonstrate that we are providing the workplace skills of the future that industry demands.
