Smart Cities Research Institute
Swinburne University’s Smart Cities Research Institute focuses on addressing the challenges faced by large, rapidly-growing cities around the world. Partnering with government departments and key industry players, the Smart Cities research Institute has two main objectives; to identify barriers preventing urban innovation and developing technologies and methods to leap-frog urban environment domains. The main areas of research are to focus on mobility and allow better access to cities, create smart living and work spaces and to create future infrastructure, systems and services to address population and city growth.
Centre for Forensic and Behavioural Science
The Swinburne University Centre for Forensic and Behavioural Science is an integral part of the social sciences at the university, exploring research efforts into mental health and clinical practices. The research conducted focuses on better understanding the behaviours and prevention methods of people with mental illness, improve policies through research findings and create a culture for improving the understanding of mental illness through research. Researchers at the Forensic and Behavioural Science Centre come from many research backgrounds, covering areas in psychology, nursing, social work and law. Iverson Health Innovation Institute
The Iverson Health Innovation Institute is committed to addressing world health issues and challenges faced across the lifespan. The health institute focuses on a number of different areas to develop innovative ways to identify and prevent health challenges, especially in cognition and neuroscience, developing bioengineering solutions and advancing health communication technology and promotion. Swinburne centres its attention on developing industry connections and partnerships across the country and around the world, to work collaboratively on creating innovative new findings and drawing on expertise to address key issues facing health.
