In terms of graduate performance after completing courses at Curtin University, the prospects are good. According to recent government data on the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) website, 67.3% of Curtin graduates, within the four months after graduating, were able to find a full-time job, which is only slightly lower than the national average of 69.5%. For overall employment, which includes both part-time and full-time work; 87.7% of graduates were able to find a job in their field. Similar to the full-time statistic, this was slightly lower than the 88.6% national average. The median salary across Australia for graduates from university is approximately $56,000 and on this front, Curtin University performed considerably better, with graduates across subjects earning a median salary of $60,000 per year.

Curtin Health Innovation Research Institute (CHIRI)
The Curtin Health Innovation Research Institute has a strong commitment to developing treatments for diseases commonly found in later stages of life. Research is focused in areas of blood vessel disorders in older age, developing new therapies for immune disorders and exploring new ways in preventing and treating Alzheimer’s disease as well as other forms of dementia. At CHIRI, there are many different research projects for postgraduate students that can allow them to collaborate with professionals and help to deliver practical solutions to a great range of challenges in ageing, dementia and prevention of diseases.
Curtin Institute for Computation (CIC)
At Curtin University, technology forms a large component of both the learning experience and the research landscape. The Curtin Institute for Computation recognises this and was founded to meet the demand for using computation methods in research, including areas of visualisation, data analysis and modelling. Bentley Campus
Bentley, Australia is a suburb located just six kilometres from Perth, the capital of WA. This is Curtin University’s main campus, situated on over 100 hectares of native bushland and landscaped gardens. Curtin Bentley campus is home to almost the entire student population, with over 50,000 studying at Bentley Campus. Curtin has created a modern campus with word-class facilities and technologies which still remains immersed in a natural environment with traditional architecture from when the campus first opened in the 1960’s. The John Curtin Gallery
Named after the former Prime Minister, John Curtin, this Gallery located at Curtin’s Bentley campus is one of the greatest galleries in Western Australia, attracting thousands of visitors every year to the extensive range of artwork, programs, exhibitions and events held at the University gallery. Many renowned artists, both from Australia as well as overseas have masterpieces on display, providing a global perspective on contemporary art. The wonderful John Curtin Gallery is not only perfect for reflection and creative thought, but also an excellent learning and research facility focused on new and emerging styles, art and ideas.
The Curtin University Library
The Curtin Library, known as the Robertson Library at the Bentley campus, has one of the largest collections and range of facilities in WA, spread across a five-level building. The Curtin library provides easy access for students to a variety of facilities and study tools, including PC workstations, open study pods, group collaboration rooms available for booking, private study areas and silent study and research zones. The Bentley campus library also features the Curtin university iZone, a vibrant and interactive study area filled with technology to assist with any group project, assignment or report. Health and Wellness Centre
The Curtin University health and Wellness Centre is situated on the Curtin Bentley Campus and is used as the hub for the Health Sciences facilities, centres and learning spaces. The Health and Wellness Centre is not only an invaluable learning resource, but also provides clinical treatments in areas of physiotherapy, exercise physiology, psychology, stuttering, speech pathology and dental hygiene. Students can gain real-world experience through providing treatments under a qualified healthcare supervisor. Physiotherapy treatments and laboratories are used for treating sports injuries as well as specialised exercise programs which are run by Curtin Exercise Sports and Rehabilitation students. Psychological services at the Curtin University Health and Wellness Centre include both adult psychology as well as child and adolescents in the form of both assessment and treatment services.
The Curtin Engineering Pavilion
This 5-star Green rated building at Bentley is a $32.5 million addition to engineering students at Curtin University. The Curtin Engineering Pavilion is only one of a handful of buildings to be given a rating by the Green Building Council of Australia. Not only is the building environmentally friendly in its power consumption, it also boasts a range of modern learning and collaboration spaces, technology and lecture rooms.
Curtin Medical School
The Curtin Medical School is a recent addition to the existing world-class teaching and learning facilities at Curtin University. It is also the only one of the medical schools in Australia to provide a direct-entry undergraduate program that’s available at Western Australia. The offered Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree is fully accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) as well as the esteemed Medical Board of Australia. The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree is a five-year program which can lead to a great deal of medical professions in the future through intensive medical study. Curtin Health Sciences Facilities
The Curtin University Health Sciences and Curtin Medical School wouldn’t be the renowned learning environments they are if it weren’t for the range of state-of-the-art equipment, technologies and real-world learning spaces available to students. One of the most valuable facilities in the Health Sciences is the $2.5 million simulated hospital ward. The hospital ward is a fantastic way for nursing and midwifery students to experience what it would be like working in a real-word hospital environment. Perth Campus
Curtin University maintains a strong presence in the heart of Western Australia’s capital, Perth. Despite only providing learning and teaching to just over 1,000 of Curtin’s student population, the University has the Curtin Graduate School of Business and the Curtin Law School located in Perth’s Central Business District. The University recently acquired the historical sites of the Old Perth Boy’s School on St Georges Terrace and 57 Murray Street, which are highly recognised, heritage listed sites that offer a fantastic traditional backdrop to Curtin’s offerings.
Curtin Business School
The Curtin School of Business is one of the highest-quality business schools in Australia, known for its ability to provide a comprehensive experience to its business students through personalised and interactive learning. The Business School is in the top ten in Australia. Curtin University business students are from more than 140 countries, with over 13,000 studying business across the seven campuses in both Australia and the South-East Asian campuses. The Curtin Business School places a strong emphasis on business connections and industry partnerships, with a global focus on shaping business graduates to engage with business on an international level.
Curtin Business School courses have been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACBS). The AACBS is known for their excellence-standards and accreditation is only awarded to schools that meet these strict standards. The Curtin Graduate School of Business is also located on the same premises in Perth, specialising in MBA degrees as well as business degrees focused on procuring oil and gas. Curtin Law School
Western Australia’s newest law school, the Curtin Law School (CLS), forms a part of the Curtin Business School in Perth. This highly- focused and innovative learning school will help law students enhance their skills through industry practice and an applied focus in the three areas of law, business law and taxation. The Curtin Law School in the Perth CBD is within close proximity to the western Australian law courts which is an invaluable resource to law students looking at gaining industry experience and a great understanding of the legal practices in WA and Australia.
The Law School offer a four-year Bachelor of Laws degree which allows students to practice law and become eligible for membership to the Law Society of Western Australia and the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia. The Curtin Law School also offers a fantastic ability to connect with industry professionals, with the school Chairperson being the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Australia, the Honourable Wayne Martin. The Advisory Board also contains some of Australia’s more distinguished representatives in law, both in WA and Australia.
The Curtin Law School places a strong emphasis on practical experience, and so, has created an intensive experience-driven undergraduate program in the Perth city campus. This program includes the creation of the John Curtin Law Clinic, a new initiative aimed at helping students gain practical law experience in a supervised environment. The law clinic provides legal services to certain small businesses in WA.
Curtin University St Georges Terrace
Curtin University recently acquired the historic and heritage-listed site, the Old Perth Boys’ School; Perth’s oldest education landmark. This beautiful building, located on St George’s Terrace in the heart of the CBD is the new hub for Curtin University students and the community at large. It brings together the university, businesses, industries, prospective students and the community to engage and showcase activities. The Terrace, a 6-Green star certified building, includes the Future Students Centre, where students looking to study at Curtin University can meet with an Advisor to discuss course options, both undergraduate and postgraduate. The St George’s Terrace building is also available for bookings, with events, exhibitions and galleries held throughout the year.
Kalgoorlie Campus
Kalgoorlie is a historic mining town in Western Australia, located in the goldfields region inland of the southern part of the state. Originally part of the great gold-rush boom, the town was established in 1893 and has continued to fuel the state’s mining industry right into the 21st century. It’s at this location that Curtin’s Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) is appropriately located.
Curtin’s Western Australian School of Mines (WASM)
This intensive school focuses on delivering courses in the areas of mining, engineering and metallurgy. In terms of the Curtin university ranking, the QS world ranking system places Curtin as the 2nd best University in the world for engineering (mineral and mining), making it one of the most prestigious engineering schools globally.
The Curtin Western Australian School of Mines places a strong focus on industry relations and international perspective and by doing so, provides a unique learning experience to all students who attend. The Mining School has been running for over a century and despite still keeping some of the original buildings, the state-of-the-art facilities and technologies made available to students brings it well and truly into a modern learning environment.
WASM provides courses in a number of different areas, including having departments in mining engineering, extractive and engineering metallurgy, applied geology, geophysics, spatial sciences and mineral economics. In partnership with the Curtin Graduate Business School, the WASM Mineral Economics department offers the only double Master’s degree in MBA and Master of Science (Mineral and Energy Economics).
Mentoring Program
Students start at Curtin’s Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) twice a year and due to the decent transition to the location, the mentoring program offered through Curtin University is a fantastic resource for new students. Mentors, who are senior students; act as a guide to answer questions, assist with learning and be a vital link to enhancing the education and social experience while at WASM.
WASM Social Club
The Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) at Curtin University has a social club which hosts events throughout the year to allow students to socialise and create memories that can shape their University experience. The WASM Social Club also has an operational bar on the Curtin Kalgoorlie campus which is entirely volunteer run and organised by a committee. The WASM Social Club is open on Thursday and Friday nights throughout the semester during the academic year. The Social Club at Kalgoorlie campus requires membership, however is a popular spot for all students to interact and socialise.
Accommodation
Kalgoorlie is located over 600 kilometres from Perth, so the need to relocate for many students is a possibility. Luckily, for students, Curtin University provides a residential College within walking distance to the Curtin Western Australian School of Mines as well as the heart of Kalgoorlie. The Agricola Residential College provides plenty of accommodation options as well as a great range of facilities and services. The accommodation comes in the form of self-contained six, or four-bedroom units. Residents at Curtin University Kalgoorlie campus can also access a great range of facilities, including a TV room, study area, pool table, tennis courts, gym and training room as well as Barbeque and outdoor areas.
Margaret Campus
The Curtin University Margaret River campus is located in the southern part of WA, about 300 kilometres from Perth. This region is renowned for its wineries and a premier grape growing location in both WA and all of Australia. Margaret River is also one of the largest tourist zones in Western Australia. The Margaret River Education Campus is a collaboration effort between a number of the best training institutes in WA, including the South West Institute of Technology (South West TAFE), Curtin University and the Edith Cowen University. The Curtin Margaret River campus also features the Centre for Wine Excellence, which provides education on wine and production through facilities such as laboratories, sensory evaluation and research laboratory and a resource centre.
Singapore Campus
Curtin Singapore has been running since 2008 and provides a world-class learning experience in one of the cultural and business hubs of South-East Asia. Students have access to a fantastic range of state-of-the-art learning resources and innovative, hands-on industry focused methods. Curtin Singapore offers courses in business, health sciences and communications. Curtin Singapore also provides pathway programs to students who are looking at entering undergraduate courses. Postgraduate degrees and English language programs are also readily available.
Sarawak Campus
Curtin University established its Malaysian Campus on the Island of Borneo in 1999, invited by the Sarawak Government. The Curtin Sarawak campus mainly specialises in engineering and science, business and humanities. They also have a prestigious Curtin Malaysia Graduate School for postgraduate studies. The Sarawak campus is filled with modern infrastructure and facilities, while also been well immersed in the natural and cultural environment.

Curtin Stadium
The Curtin Stadium is the epicentre of sorts, fitness and recreation at Curtin University, with the range of events and activities covering virtually all sports and recreational activities. The Curtin Stadium hosts a variety of multi-purpose courts available for hire or social use. These include courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, netball, futsal and tennis as well as three ovals. The Curtin Stadium also offers a fully- equipped Fitness Centre with membership options available. The Fitness centre features cardio and weight equipment as well as over 60 fitness group classes and boot camp fitness programs. Free yoga classes are also a popular activity for students to take part in and unwind during the busy semesters.
